NTPC to raise $45 million for Sipat-II

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is in the process of negotiating a loan up to $45 million from the Swedish Export Credit Agency to part finance the Sipat II project.

According to a release issued to the BSE today, the terms and conditions are yet to be finalised.

"The budget estimates for the year 2005-06 envisages a capital outlay of Rs 8,550 crore. The capital expenditure would be financed in the debt:equity ratio of 70:30," the release said.

The company is exploring the availability of gas in other countries, and the possibility of importing it in liquefied form (LNG) and re-gassify it to augment existing supplies.
