Online bus bookings have witnessed a huge spurt since January 2013, registering a growth of 185%. While the number of online bus bookings were 0.25 million in January, July recorded 0.72 million bookings.
According to the latest Internet Economy Watch, published jointly by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and market research firm IMRB International, online books of hotels too have witnessed a spurt from the period January 2013 to July 2013, with the segment registering an impressive 135% growth.
Online bookings of hotels in January stood at 0.06 million, while the number was 0.13 million in July.
In a press release on Tuesday, IAMAI said bookings of airlines tickets registered the lowest growth since January this year. The segment registered a growth of 20% with 1.84 million bookings in July, as compared to 1.53 million bookings in January.
