Pratt & Whitney donates $15000 to Project Krushi

United Technologies Corporation's group company Pratt & Whitney, a global leader in the design, manufacture and services of aircraft engines, industrial gas turbines and space propulsion systems, on Tuesday donated $15,000 to Project Krushi, a programme committed to the rehabilitation and education of the homeless and needy children in Hyderabad.
 
This is the third grant made by Pratt & Whitney since 2005, taking its total contribution to $45,000.
 
The Pratt & Whitney's contribution will help 22 schools improve their infrastructure, recruit more teachers and buy new books and other educational materials. The schools are located in low-income areas of Hyderabad that provide housing and education to over 6,000 children.
 
"We look forward to continuing to work with the project on the advancement of math and science education," David Carter, vice-president (engineering module centres), Pratt & Whitney, said, after presenting the cheque to TL Reddy, chief coordinator of Association Saikorian, Project Krushi.
 
Speaking on the occasion, BVR Mohan Reddy, chairman and managing director of Infotech Technologies, said the company had decided to embark on social responsibility activities in a major way, and would earmark 0.5 per cent of the company's net profit for the purpose from this year.
