Rajasthan Spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd, a LNJ Bhilwara group company, will extend its suitings brand, Mayur, to readymade garments in the next few months. The company has appointed consultancy firm, KSA Technopak, to draw a roadmap for the foray.
"We will extend Mayur to readymade garments. It is a brand for the masses, value for money and not very aspirational," RSWML joint managing director Riju Jhunjhunwala said. To begin with, the group will come out with trousers in the Rs 400-500 price band.
"We will create a sub-brand under Mayur," Jhunjhunwala added. After trousers, Jhunjhunwala plans to extend the brand to other categories of readymade garments as well, including women's apparels.
Jhunjhunwala, the elder son of LNJ Bhilwara group chairman Ravi Jhunjhunwala and the grandson of L.N. Jhunjhunwala, joined the RSWML board a few months back. Maral Overseas, another group company, had got into woollen garments with the Buddy Davies brand.
