Rayat-Bahra comes up with CoE in Mohali

With an aim to bridge the gap between industry and academia, Punjab-based educational group Rayat-Bahra is developing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Mohali.

Spread over 10 acres the centre envisages to have clusters including IT, Pharma , Automotive and Financial Services. Sandeep Singh Kaura, associate managing director Rayat- Bahra group maintained the centre would be first of its kind not only in the region but across the country.

The CoE would run courses which would be catering to all the communities from school drop outs to research and fellowship associates, thus, making it unique. It would also have courses developed by industry professionals which would be taught in an innovative way, to ensure maximum learning and capped by on the job training and working on live project for six months.

 

Commenting on the setting up of CoE by the group, Kaura maintained the drive to have industry presence in the campus of basically motivated Rayat Bahra to develop a CoE which could help bridging the gap between industry and academia. It would evolve as talent supply chain capable of delivering trained talent for the industry.

The CoE coming over 100,000 sq feet area would be developed in phases and this first phase is likely to commence its operations by mid December. Starting with the automobile cluster in, Rayat–Bahra is engaging players from two wheeler segment, three wheeler segment, passenger vehicle segment and commercial vehicle segment.

Players like Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen Group and Volvo along with 40 ancillary units has been roped in by the institute to start their programmes. The group would soon be signing MoU with Royal Enfield as well.

As part of the agreement signed with Rayat Bahra , teachers from the various institutes would be trained at the recently inaugurated Volkswagen Academy at Chakan, Pune. The teachers, upon the completion of their training, would further train students at the Institutes. The Volkswagen Academy has 1,500 square meters of space, and is equipped with seminar rooms, training material and professional trainers to impart practical training.
