Regus to open 800 biz centres worldwide in three yrs

Regus, provider of physical workplaces and offices, today said it planned to open over 800 more business centres worldwide in the next three years, in order to capitalise on the accelerating trend toward flexible working.

The company said it planned to open about 800 business new centres and bring the total to 2,000 by 2014, it said in a statement.

The majority of growth will take place across the USA and emerging markets such as Brazil, China and India. It will also take the company into an additional 30 new countries – those in the pipeline include Slovenia, Uruguay, Nepal and Madagascar.

 

Regus said it was currently experiencing record levels of enquiries and in its last set of financial reports documented an all-time occupancy high of 86.7%.

The company's customers include Starbucks, Google, Accenture and GlaxoSmithKline. In the last three years its customer base has quadrupled to more than 9 lakh in 1,200 locations.

To capitalise on the rising demand for flexible workspace, Regus is rapidly growing its network in India, has already opened four new centres so far this year.

"We are increasingly helping Indian entrepreneurs, SMEs and corporations to take advantage of the flexible working trend, as well as helping international businesses enter the Indian market.

"With demand in India up by over 40% year-on-year, and occupancy at record highs, our latest openings in Andheri West and Navi Mumbai will help expand our network across the country, and underlines our commitment to India," Regus Regional Vice-President (South Asia) Madhusudan Thakur said.
