Sanmar ends JV with Emerson

BS Reporter Chennai

The Sanmar Group has divested its 50.97 per cent ownership in Fisher Sanmar Limited to its joint venture partner Emerson for an undisclosed amount. This has brought over twenty years of company's joint venture with Emerson to an end.

Vijay Sankar, deputy chairman, Sanmar Group, said, "this transaction brings to an end our successful joint venture relationship of over twenty years with Emerson. The friendly separation was a natural evolution of Emerson’s increased presence in India, particularly through their process management vertical.”

Over the years, Sanmar group has been able to take the Fisher range of control valves and regulators to a leadership position in the industry, he said.

Fisher Sanmar was a part of Sanmar Engineering Corporation’s family of offerings to the Indian process sector including the oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, power, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

After this transaction, Sanmar Engineering Corporation would continue to offer products in sealing, safety and fluid control, among others, according to company press release.

The Sanmar Group is involved in diverse activities across the chemicals, engineering, metals and shipping industries.
