Shri Kailash Logistics to soon launch Phase -II of Chennai project

Company has acquired 55 acres of land and proposes to add 225,000 sft in the current financial year

Shri Kailash Logistics Limited (SKLL) will soon launch its second phase of expansion at the Oragadam logistics park near Chennai. For this, the company has acquired 55 acres of land and proposes to add 225,000 sft in the current financial year.

Stating this, Rajkumar, managing director of SKLL, said: "We propose to set up similar facilities in North Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Pune under Phase II." The company has already identified land for North Chennai and Bangalore projects.

Under its Rs 320 crore Phase-II expansion, SKLL plans to add at least 1.1 million sft area with facilities like temperature-controlled warehouses, cold storage and custom-bonded warehouse of 100,000 sft each, container yard and a knowledge and training centre.
 

The Orgadam facility, developed under phase-I, comprises three warehouses with an aggregate capacity of over 300,000 sft, business centre (24,000 sft), canteen and dormitory block. It has leased the space to Nippon Express and TT Assembly, a Toyota arm.

The park is located on the Vandalur-Wallajabad six-lane highway with connectivity to the Chennai - Bangalore Highway, which lies next to auto facilities of Renault Nissan, Daimler, BMW, Ford and Hyundai.

The company's transport division registered revenues of Rs 26 crore while the warehousing division recorded Rs 7 crore.
