Sterling Agro Industries, which is also engaged in setting up renewable power projects, today said it has placed an order with Suzlon for sourcing equipment.
"Sterling Agro Industries awarded a new order to the wind energy major Suzlon for projects totalling 18.55 MW capacity," the company said in a statement.
However, the financial details of the order were not disclosed by the company.
The project shall be commissioned by the end of financial year 2010-11 in Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, the statement said.
"Our mainstream business of dairy products underlines the importance of conserving the environment and we have extended our decision of diversifying into the renewable energy sector," Sterling Agro's Managing Director Kuldeep Saluja said.
