Tourist facilitation centres at IOC pumps

In order to facilitate tourist visiting Gujarat, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to provide basic facilities at IOC petrol pumps. As part of the agreement, TCGL will acquire land in the areas of IOC pumps and create basic amenities such as toilets, food courts and kiosks. It is the first instance in the country.

Such facilities will be created in select areas and on national highways where IOC has its presence and these facilities will be managed by third parties, an official statement said. The work on the project is expected to begin in next six months, the statement informed. As per TCGL data, tourist traffic in Gujarat has increased by over 5.4 million visitors in last two years.
