Dense fog engulfs Delhi again, 94 trains running late and over 7 flights delayed

Visibility at 5.30 a.m was 400 meters, which dropped to 100 meters at 8.30 a.m., the IMD said, similar situation will continue for at least two more days

Dense fog engulfed the national capital on Thursday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 8.7 degrees Celsius, season's average, officials at the weather office said.

Visibility at 5.30 a.m was 400 meters, which dropped to 100 meters at 8.30 a.m., the IMD said, similar situation will continue for at least two more days.

"The sky will remain clear in the day with dense to very dense fog in the morning," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the weather office, the maximum temperature was likely to hover around 23 degree Celsius, and the humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 97 per cent.

 

Wednesday's maximum temperature settled at 24.3 degrees Celsius, the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius, the season's average.

In Delhi, 94 trains were running late, two had been cancelled and 16 rescheduled due to low visibility, news agency ANI reported. At least six International and seven domestic flights operating from the airport were delayed and one domestic flight cancelled, it added.
