National Board of Examinations (CBE) recently announced extension for online registration for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Post Graduate (NEET-PG) 2017. Interested candidates have to register and apply through official website www.nbe.edu.in.
The single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to postgraduate medical courses for the academic session 2017, NEET PG 2017 will be conducted between December 5 and 13. For admission in PG dental courses, a separate examination will be held from November 30, 2016 to December 3, 2016.

Eligibility criteria
Interested candidates in possession of MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956, and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council, and have completed one year of internship or/are likely to complete the internship on or before March 31, 2017 can apply for NEET-PG 2017.
Candidates who have studied/passed MBBS from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% quota seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply for admission. Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to do MBBS from Medical Colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu & Kashmir to the NBE Deputy Director (Examinations) along with the print out of the acknowledgement of submission of online application for NEET-PG 2017 latest by November 31, 2016.

Test fees
Examination fees for SC/ST/PWD (PH) candidates for NEET-PG 2017 is Rs. 2750. For General/OBC candidates, the fee is Rs. 3750. The above exam fee is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin.
Candidate have to pay the prescribed registration fee through payment gateway provided using a credit card or a debit card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking. Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forward if the application for NEET-PG 2017 is rejected or candidature is found to be ineligible or candidate is unable to appear in the examination.
NEET-PG
An eligibility-cum-ranking test, prescribed as the single window entrance examination to various MD/MS and PG diploma courses as per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, NEET-PG 2017 shall be held in 86 test centers at 41 cities across the country. As per the Indian Medical Council Act 1956, no other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for 2017 admission session.
The result will be declared in January 15, 2017.
Scope of examination
NEET-PG 2017 qualification will be valid at the following:
1. All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
2. State quota seats for MD/MS/PG diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
3. MD/MS/PG diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the countryiv. MD/MS/PG diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
4. DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2017 Admission Session)
The examination scores will not be valid for courses conducted by All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS), Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER), Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), & National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS).

Syllabus
A computer-based test (CBT), NEET PG comprises 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQ) from the MBBS curriculum followed at medical colleges in India. The syllabus for the exam shall comprise subjects/knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Government of India.
The examination will be held in English language only. There shall be no negative marking. Time allotted for the examination is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
