Use of public transport likely to dip for 6 mnths post lockdown: CSE survey

Within six months after the lockdown, metro ridership will decline from 37% in pre-lockdown period to 16%, the CSE said.

A recent analysis by the Centre for Science and Environment said the use of public transport is expected to reduce for six months after the lockdown to contain the coronavirus ends.
The enivronment group said there is a positive shift towards high quality public transport among the citizens. The urge to have a 'contact-free walking and cycling' could reduce unnecessary travel trips in the future, said CSE.
