'Bill on unorganised labour soon'

Press Trust Of India Mumbai
Maharashtra government would introduce a bill aimed at providing security to unorganised labour in the monsoon session of state legislature.

Making the announcement at the 18th anniversary function of the Bharatiya Kamgar Karmachari Mahasangh here yesterday, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh observed that labour unions which "care for both the workers and factories will survive in the future".

Lauding the role played by Mahasangh leader and Congress MLA Bhai Jagtap in "maintaining good industrial environment in the state", Deshmukh said, "It is due to the pragmatic approach adopted by leaders like Jagtap that industrial disputes are on the decline in Maharashtra."

Responding to a suggestion by Jagtap on construction of houses for workers in the metropolis, the CM assured to him the government will consider the suggestion positively.
