27 major industries to set shop in AP

The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has cleared the proposals for setting up 27 major industries in Andhra Pradesh, involving a total investment of Rs 18,137 crore. This was disclosed to chief minister, K Rosaiah, at a review meeting held by him on Monday.

According to an official press release, the proposed industries have a potential to generate employment to 59,732 people. The planned industries will be extended all the incentives offered under the 2005-2010 Industrial and Investment Policy announced by the state government recently.

The 27 proposals cleared by the SIPB included Lanco Industries Limited’s expansion project with an investment of Rs 369 crore, MRF Tyres Limited’s expansion at an outlay of Rs 472 crore, Vibha Seeds’ (Rs 153.4 crore), Andhra Pradesh Iron Ore Company Limited (Rs 455.37 crore), Saraiwala Agri (Rs 121.19 crore), Emami Biotech (Rs 240 crore), Hindustan National Glass & Industries Limited (Rs 1,600 crore) and Spin-Cot Textiles (Rs136 crore).

 

The meeting also decided to take up the demands of other industries separately, the release added.
