4 IIMC students on Youth Forum team

Our Regional Bureau Kolkata
Four Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) students will be part of the Indian contingent at the Copenhagen Consensus Youth Forum 2004.

Ayan Nandy, Rajanish Dass and Sethuraman of IIMC's management fellow and Shama Perveen, junior research fellow, CDEP, have been selected.

The forum is organized by the Environment Assessment Institute, Denmark, (EAID) and sponsored by Danish environment ministry and other foundations.

The 'Economist' is co-sponsoring the event. At the Copenhagen Consensus (CC), ten major concerns like conflicts, climate change, education, corruption, financial instability, hunger, population, sanitation and water issues have been identified for discussion.

The ranking of the opportunities that would result therein would serve as a guideline for decision-makers all over the world. The Youth Forum is a corresponding conference of the Copenhagen Consensus.

The Youth Forum would question the prioritization on the global agenda and spread its message. It will discuss the same topics as the actual Copenhagen Consensus. Upto 99 university students from 20 countries have been invited to the Youth Forum. The sessions would be streamed live to the Web.
