Ankleshwar industrial estate to get transport nagar soon

The Ankleshwar industrial estate will have its first 'transport nagar' to ease the traffic flow and heavy vehicle congestion within the estate area.
 
The proposed project has been submitted to the state government for its approval.
 
"The transport nagar project, at the notified area of Ankleshwar GIDC, will be developed on one lakh square meter land with all the required facilities and amenities," said Sunil Sanghvi, chartered engineer of notified area, Ankleshwar GIDC.
 
The nagar will have independent plots allocated to transporters along with separate godowns and offices with transit facilities.
 
For the purpose of loading and unloading, each units will be provided sufficient space to park HLV and other four wheelers vehicles. It will also have ample space for night parking.
 
The facilities such as service station, spare parts shops, workshop, garage and fueling stations are competent enough to provide required service facility for the repair and maintenance of the trucks and other heavy vehicle within the vicinity of transport nagar.
 
Infrastructure like water supply, drainage, storm water drains, pedestrian pavement, tree plantation, street light and high mast will be one of the important feature of the transport nagar.
 
"The transport nagar will also have restaurant, rest rooms, tea stalls, first aid units, telephone connections and ATMs," said Sanghvi.
 
Atul Buch, president of Ankleshwar Industrial Association (AIA), said, "The proposed transport nagar is a long standing requirement of Ankleshwar industries that will be fulfilled now".
 
Ankleshwar industrial estate has approximately 500 transporters operating from different places from within the estate.
 
Most of these transporters have premises on rental basis.
 
"There is need to have special transport zone to deal with the traffic menace as well as to create a single transportation business hub that will enhance transportation business on permanent basis," Buch said.
 
"Under the five year action plan of AIA, we had planned to set up well planned industrial estate in Ankleshwar, and transport nagar is a part of that plan" he added.
 
M M Mansuri, notified area officer of Ankleshwar and Bharch GIDC, said, "The estimate cost of the proposed project is about Rs 20 crore."
 
He said though the proposed project has been accepted by GIDC on principle ground, the percentage share of the investment, which will be provided by each agencies involved in the project, has not been chalked out yet.
 
For the proposed project, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Industrial Commissionerate of Gujarat government and notified area GIDC, Ankleshwar will provide the require funds.
 
"The talks are going on with the GIDC to allocate land for the proposed project" said Mansuri. Mansuri said that if everything goes as per the plan, the transport nagar will be fully operational by 2007.
