April-Feb fiscal deficit 94.6% of Revised Estimates

The Centre has overshot the Budget Estimate of the fiscal deficit target and is on the road to meeting the Revised Estimate of 5.9 per cent of the gross domestic product (GDP). The Centre’s fiscal deficit touched 94.6 per cent of the Revised Estimates for 2011-12 in the first 11 months. The difference in the total expenditure and total revenue was Rs 4.93 lakh crore in April-February.
