Bangalore gets another international school

Treamis World School, a school promoted by 20 persons including a few NRIs from the US and some Indians, is being inaugurated on July 9.
 
Set up at a cost of Rs 24 crore, its offers schooling from kindergarten to Std XII. The school is being part-funded through a loan from the State Bank of India.
 
Built on 10-11 acres, the school will have classrooms that will be 600-700 sft and will not have more than 20 students in a class. The fees will be Rs 1.5 lakh per annum, while hostel fees could come to Rs 50,000.
 
From next year, it plans to be a full-fledged residential school. The school promises to have as extra-curricular activity, right from Karnataka's traditional 'kolaata' dance to Salsa.
 
The school, near the Wipro campus in electronic city, "is attempting to fill a void of a lack of school in that part of the city," said Dakshayini Kanna, academic director of the school. It will give the option of IGCSE or International Baccalaureate and CBSE syllabus.
 
"The school will incorporate the best of Indian and the US education systems," said Venkatesh Koravadi, managing director, and one of the promoters of Treamis World Schools.
 
Treamis has collaborations with two schools based in Illinois, US "" Lake Forest Academy and Morgan Park Academy.
