Chamber seeks permanent I-T tribunal

The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has sought a permanent Income Tax Appellate Tribunal in Surat.
 
Chamber president Dinesh Mandalaywala said that being on of the biggest contributors to the central and state tax kitties, Surat's demand for a permanent I-T tribunal is a just request.
 
He was talking after welcoming D P Agrawal, the tribunal's accountant member, and the tribunal's judicial member I P Bansal to the camp at the Chamber.
 
"It is a matter of great delight that the IT Appellate Tribunal had setup a camp in Surat. We, however, believe that a permanent IT Appellate Tribunal is a must for Surat," he said.
 
D P Garg, the senior vice-president assured that a suitable recommendation would be made for the requirements of Surat, specifically for a permanent tribunal in the city.
 
Discussing the overall scenario, I P Bansal appreciated the business development and the volume of trade and industry in the region.
 
He said that considering the importance of Surat and its business, a permanent tribunal should be considered in Surat.
