Chaos at hospital, victims missing

The General Hospital at Gurgoan was the centre of most action yesterday - a day after the clashes between police forces and the agitating workers of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India.
Some of the relatives of the riot victims claimed that they were unable to locate their kith and kin who were hospitalised on Monday and later said to be discharged.
Mahindar Singh said he was unable to locate his brother Kushiram, who, he said, was an employee of HMSI and was hospitalised yesterday. "I have checked all hospitals in the region. We do not know to which police station they have taken him," he said.
Kushiram, 22, appears as entry No 26 in the list of patients admitted to General Hospital at Sohna on Monday. The hospital administration claimed that all but two of the 39 patients taken into the hospital had been discharged. Two of the patients were sent to the GH in Gurgaon for further treatment.
Another victim, Karamveer, 20, too is reported to be missing. His uncle Laxman said he could not locate Karamveer, but the hospital where he was admitted claims to have discharged him.
The Chief Medical Officer at GH, Gurgaon, Dr D V Saharan said patients who were discharged from the hospital were not handed over to the police. He asserted that the hospital was adequately stocked with medical supplies.
