Cong Should Spell Out Stance On Fodder Scam, Says Advani

BSCAL

BJP president L K Advani yesterday expressed surprise at the deafening silence of the Congress on the Bihar fodder scam and asked it to spell out its stance, even as he appreciated his partys bitter rival, the Marxists, for their firm and clear stand on the issue.

Advani, here on the fourth day of his Swarna Jayanti Rath Yatra in Karnataka, told reporters that the Congress, its president and its spokesman, who had been making statements on all kinds of issues, had refused to take a stand on the fodder scam, one of the biggest scandals in recent history. The silence of the Congress was as eloquent as it was significant, he said, adding that the Congress was suffering from a guilt complex and it is neck deep in scams.

The Congress was fully aware that politics today was thoroughly vitiated by scams and mega scams and that party was the biggest contributor, he said.

Despite the Marxists being the principal supporters of the United Front government and their fear that if the government fell, the BJP would come to power, they had taken a firm and clear stand on the issue, Advani said.

Stating that the Janata Dal could be heading for a major crisis, he remarked that the noose is tightening around Laloo Prasad Yadav.
