Curfew relaxed for 12 hours in Veraval

| Curfew was relaxed for 12 hours on Friday in Veraval town of Junagadh district of Gujarat, where two persons were killed and eight injured in clashes earlier this week. No untoward incidents have been reported from any part of the town. |
| "Curfew has been relaxed from 7 am to 7 pm. The situation is completely normal and under control," Junagadh district collector Rohit Pathak said. |
| He said the supply of essential commodities were smooth and public services normal. |
| Two persons had been killed and eight injured when members of two communities clashed on Monday over an incident of eve-teasing, prompting the authorities to impose curfew. |
| Police have arrested 86 people in connection with the violence. Police said they have launched a manhunt for a 30-year-old man who allegedly eve-teased a ninth standard student. |
| The Junagadh district administration has sought the help of citizens to prevent recurrence of violence in the city. People are encouraged to report miscreants and inform authorities about any development in the city. |
| Junagadh district police have started combing operations in the city and seized 10 bags of explosives and more than 100 acid bulbs, police said. |
| Police have arrested 14 people from the Barkot Patel Wada and Gandhi Chowk areas. |
| "We have tightened security in the city", a top police official said. |
