Death toll this monsoon 101

Gujarat government today doubled the compensation for the flood victims and also declared that 17 more deaths were reported from across the state within the last 24 hours.

With this the death toll in Gujarat this monsoon has reached 101.

Gujarat Revenue Minister Kaushik Patel at a press conference in Gandhinagar announced that the government has decided to double compansation for the people who lost their lives in rain-related incidents. Each victim's family will receive Rs 1 lakh instead of Rs 50,000.

He also said that 17 more people were killed in various parts of the state in rain-related incidents. With this, the addition to the death toll increased to 101 this monsoon.
