Dispose of mining bids on time: Centre to states

The Union ministry of mines has asked all mineral bearing states, including Odisha for timely disposal of mining applications related to lease (ML), prospecting license (PL) and reconnaissance permit (RP), warning that in future all such proposals would be turned down if the applications were not processed in prescribed time limit. According to rule 63A of the Mineral Concession Rule, the disposal of mineral concession applications should be completed within six months for RP, within nine months for PL and for ML, it should not cross more than 12 months.
