In this treatise I am trying to assess what exact purpose has been served in the Budget 2008-09 by amending the definition of excisable goods in the Section 2(d) Central Excise Act by adding the following provision:
"ExplanationFor the purpose of this clause "goods" includes any article, material or substance which is capable of being bought and sold for a consideration such as goods shall be deemed to be marketable".
