Exporters Association in talks with ITIs

In order to overcome the skilled labour shortatge, the Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) is holding talks with five of the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the State. The association has also got the approval from the state's labour ministry.
 
"We are in discussions with the ITIs in Trichy, Madurai, Dharmapuri, Tirunelveli and Krishnagiri to offer short - term courses on tailoring or garmenting, to intersted candidates," A Sakthivel, president of TEA, told Business Standard.
 
As such, TEA would provide the machinery and expertise and the ITIs are expected to provide the infrastructural support. This is likely to materialise in the next academic year.
