Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has left on a seven-day official visit to China to boost commercial ties between that country and the northeast.

		</script> </DIV><p class='TableClas'>Official sources said today Gogoi will visit several areas to get first hand information about the development taking place in China in sectors like progressive farming, tourism, vocational training institutions, bamboo cultivation and bamboo-based industries.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>He is scheduled to visit the Xier hydel power plant and exchange views with Indian students studying in Dali University in Kunming province.</P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>Gogoi will also visit the Yunnan Academy of Social Science besides holding series of meetings with leaders of the Yunnan provincial party and their ambassadors and ministers. He will return on May 20.</P></p><p class='TableClas'></p></table>
