Educational Testing Service (ETS) said that more than 1,000 business schools worldwide have now accepted GRE revised General Test scores for their MBA programs.  This list includes 13 B-Schools from India including Amrita School of Business, T A Pai Management Institute and Universal Business School.

"Schools want great candidates for their MBA and specialized masters programs and they recognize that GRE test takers are a highly qualified, highly diverse population. We have got great feedback from business schools who say they are pleased to see the number of applicants with GRE scores rise with each admissions cycle.Even schools like Harvard are now communicating directly to students that GRE scores are valued," said David Payne, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Higher Education division at ETS.

In addition to a lower test fee compared to other admissions test options, GRE offers test takers preview/review functionality and the Quantitative Reasoning section on-screen calculator. GRE officials also announced the introduction of the new ScoreSelect option earlier this year, which allows test takers to decide which GRE scores, from their reportable history, to send to their designated schools.

Among the 1,000 plus business schools now accepting GRE scores, the world's top-ranked institutes including the business schools at Duke University, the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Madison are some of them.

Business schools are also content with the diversity of students that they get through GRE. Jenni Denniston, Director of MBA Recruiting and Admissions at the Ivey School of Business at Western University in Canada, explained that accepting GRE scores opens up a new and diverse applicant pool for their full-time MBA program to seek applications from. Adding to this, Pejay Belland, Director of Marketing, Admissions and Financial Aid at INSEAD in France said that by accepting GRE scores for admissions, they had access to an even wider pool of candidates with highly unique profiles.

ETS develops, administers and scores more than 50 million tests annually, including the TOEFL and TOEIC tests, GRE tests and Praxis Series assessments in more than 180 countries.
