Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today assured in the state assembly that the state would give all help to Tata Motors if Ratan Tata shifts his Nano car project to the state following his decision to pull out from West Bengal.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice of ruling Congress member Karan Singh Dalal, Hooda said, "If Tata comes to Haryana, the government and the people of the state will welcome them. We will give all help to Tata as lakh of people will get employment."
Besides Nano is to be the cheapest car which would also save fuel, he added.
He said that the state would make every effort to bring the Tata's small car project to the state as Haryana has already become a hub of automobile industry.
Fifty per cent of the cars are manufactured in the state which also has a major share in the manufacture of motor cycles, tractors, cycles, refrigerators and JCB machines.
Hooda said that the government was already working for the industrialization of the state and due to various efforts, including a new Labour Policy, fixing the highest minimum wages and peaceful atmosphere, had resulted in an investment of Rs 40,000 Crore in 39 months of Congress rule.
Investment proposals worth Rs 90,000 crore were in the pipeline, he said adding that during 40 years of state's existence the total investment was just Rs 40,000 crore, he said adding "The thrust is on industrialisation as this can lead to greater employment opportunities for the youth of the state in the wake of reducing land holdings."
Dalal and some other members of the house said that they could arrange for the land for Tata's Nano car project in their areas if Ratan Tata decided to shift to Haryana.
