Hdfc Bank Co-Brands Credit Card With Eseva

The co-branded credit card of HDFC Bank with eSeva was formally launhed here today by the chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu.

The card, first-of-its-kind product, is aimed at facilitating citizens' to pay their utility bills by availing all the benefits of the credit card including free credit period of upto 50 days.

The HDFCBank eSeva International Credit Card has all the features of the HDFC Bank credit card in addition to some exclusive features to deal with eSeva transactions. The cardholders will have the option to give one-time authorisation to debit their card for periodic payment of utility bills through eSeva.

 

The cardholder also earns two reaward points on every Rs 100 spent on eSeva transactions and up on achieving a crtical mass on accumulated reward points, the cardhoder has the option of redeeming the reward points to pay utility bills.

Aditya Puri, the MD of HDFC Bank, said that the bank's exclusive alliance with the state government in terms of the co-branded credit card would enable the bank's customers AP to maximise their use of e-governance facilities with convenience.

Phani Kumar, the director of eSeva, said that the launch of the HDFC eSeva International Credit card is another step in realising the government's objective of providing a convergence of services as a matter of citizen's right to conveniently transact his business with the government. The facility of using co-branded credit card will be extended to eSeva centres located outside the city in a phased manner, he explained.

Uma Ratnam Krishnan, the country head (card products) of HDFC Bank, said that bank had tied with Giant Hypermarket, Apollo Hospital, Airtel, Pizza Corner and Ramoji Film City as preferred partners who would offer attractive discounts.

This was in addition to discounts available at 150-odd merchant establishments in the city. Annual maintenance charges for the card are fixed at Rs 600 for the existing customers of the bank and Rs 750 for others.

HDFC Bank currently has has 11 branches and 43 ATMs spread across Hyderabad, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.

It plans to open branches at Tirupaty, Rajahmundry and Dilsukhnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad before the end of the current fiscal. Another 7 ATMs are also proposed to be opened.
