Hospital forms consortium to offer cardiac care

| The NIMS Heart Foundation has tied up with a few of hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari (in southern Tamil Nadu) districts to form a consortium of heartcare institutions. |
| The foundation is part of the Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) based at Neyyattinkara, in the Kerala capital suburbs. |
| According to M Faizal Khan, managing director, NIMS Hospital, "the consortium includes the Karett Medical Centre, Vamanapuram, Abdul Khader Hospital, Nagercoil, PPK Hospital, Marthandom and the NIMS Health Centre. The foundation has also inked memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with these hospitals." |
| Faizal added that more hospitals will be included in the consortium for which discussions are at different stages. |
| "Services of an expert medical team headed by our experienced doctors will be made available at these hospitals on September 30 on the occasion of World Heart Day, to offer complimentary medical advices and checkups on cardiac care," he added. |
| The initiative is part of the NIMS Hospital's observance of World Heart Day celebrations. |
| "We intend to reach the masses and educate them to control the dreaded cardiac diseases" Faizal added. |
