Now make online donations to Vaishno Devi shrine

Devotees from around the world will now find it easier to make online donations to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir with the shrine board and the HDFC bank today signing an agreement on the matter.

Arun Kumar, chief executive officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), and HDFC country operations head A Rajan signed an agreement here for providing a reliable online system, an official release said.

Under the agreement, devotees can make online contributions to the shrine and also avail of other e-commerce transactions for various services.

The CEO of SMVDSB said revenue to the board through online services registered over 100 fold increase to Rs two crore so far this year.

There has been rapid growth in online services since the launch of the official website of the shrine board "" www.Maavaishnodevi.Org "" in October 2004. The SMVDSB has generated Rs 4.36 crore since 2004 from online facilities, it said.

HDFC bank is already offering this facility to many other temples and institutions around the country like Shree Sidhivinayak Ganapati Temple, Shri Jagannath Temple, Somnathji temple among others.
