Punjab govt may set up 'Mini Punjab'

In a bid to showcase Punjabi culture and tradition for boosting tourism in the state, the Punjab government has planned to set up a Mini Punjab near Mohali, with an investment of Rs 100 crore.
 
"Mini Punjab will be a replica of the entire state which will, when completed, be depicting our rich culture and heritage, traditional values, villages, historic monuments aimed at giving an impetus to the state's tourism," Tourism and Culture minister Hira Singh Gabria told reporters here today.
 
He said the government was considering the project, which would be set up on 70 acres.
 
Meanwhile, the participants of the SAARC car rally received a warm welcome when they made a brief halt here while on their way to Delhi.
