Traders Say Vat Stir Effective

Over 100,000 traders from across the country are planning to converge at the Ramlila Grounds on April 8 in protest against the introduction of the value-added tax (VAT).

Trade associations feel their protests have been instrumental in forcing state governments to rethink the switch to the value-added taxation system from the existing sales tax regime.
