The Congress on Monday released its list of candidates for 111 Assembly seats in Telangana. It left 8 out of a total of 119 Assembly seats in the region to its electoral ally CPI.
The party had released the list of candidates for 16 Lok Sabha segments in Telangana last week. It had left the Khammam parliamentary seat for the CPI.
According to the list, released in New Delhi, Congress seemed to have stuck to "one family-one seat" policy. Thus, former home minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy, whose son was given a Lok Sabha ticket did not figure in the list. Similarly, the names of kith and kin of other candidates have not been included in the list.
Most of the sitting MLAs who had been sailing with the party are stated to have been given the Assembly tickets.
