Thanking people of Vadodara, Modi declared that it was time to work for the country and the nation would not get better 'mazddoor' than him. He also assured the people that his government will take everyone together as his party's motto has been 'sabka saath sabka vikas'. "I am here today to greet and thank you. At a personal level, as a candidate, two important things happened... I could give Vadodara only 50 minutes after announcing my candidature. And you gave me 8,17,000 votes," Modi said holding his folded hand in the air thanking the people of Vadodara who were chating 'Modi Modi'.
"I bow my head to the love shown by the people of Vadodara. Each voter became Narendra Modi. You completed a very big responsibility. Now you have become an inspiration for voter awarness. I didn't get to speak in Varanasi but their stamp of approval was the other big thing," he said in the land of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad.
Modi claimed that the BJP would be forming the first pure non-Congress government post-independence. He further said that this was the first election which was led by leaders born after independence.
"After independence most governments were formed by Congress. And the few times BJP came to power in form of a coalition. But this is the first time that we have won purely on our own -- with a national agenda based on governance. Before this election, most of the PM's were people who weren't born in independent India but this is the first election in which the leadership of the parties (Congress and BJP) was in the hands of people born in independent India," Modi added.

Every part of my body, every second of my time is dedicated to the people of the country. My dedication to my work is something that even my oppositions do not doubt," Modi said.
