Karnataka Bank today said it planned to open 15 more new branches in South India during this current fiscal.
"We have got Reserve Bank of India's permission to open 30 new branches. However, during this current fiscal, we have planned to open 15 branches in important towns in South India," Karnataka Branch Chairman Ananthakrishna told reporters here.
"Another 15 branches will be opened during the next fiscal," he added.
Currently, Karnataka Bank has 435 branches located in 19 states and two union terrorist with total business to the tune of Rs 31,248 crore.
Ananthakrishna, who was here to inaugurate a renovated branch at Thambu Chetty Street, said the bank was also planning to set up another 30 new ATM centres in the current fiscal.
"As a part of our expansion plans, we have also decided to open a representative office in Gulf region in the future," he said without disclosing the exact place.
He said that the bank would be introducing online booking of airline ticket through internet banking and online trading facilities.
