Lic Steps Up Equity Buy

The Life Insurance Corpora- tion of India (LIC) is stepping into the stock markets in a bigger way. It is investing Rs 400-500 crore every month in the markets. Market players said in the past week LIC had picked up software and old economy stocks at bargain prices.

In the current financial year, LIC has invested over Rs 1,800 crore. Its equity investment accounts for 10 per cent of its total investments.
