Outlook
The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 45.78/ 80 to a dollar on Tuesday.

Sentiment: Bearish

The spot rupee opened stronger at 45.73/ 74 to a dollar and closed at 45.76/ 78 in a range-bound market.

The six-month forward premium closed at 0.55 per cent while the 12-month premium closed at 0.47 per cent.

Money market

Sentiment: Bearish

Prices of government securities moved in a narrow range of 5-7 paise. The 7.37 per cent 2014 government paper closed at 6.97 per cent. The yield on 10-year bond stood at 7.08 per cent.

The government bond market looks cautious ahead of the auction announcement.

The government is scheduled to raise Rs 5,000 crore between November 16 and 24 via bonds with maturities of 15-19 years.

Call rates fell to 5.50/ 5.60 per cent with reverse repo bids aggregating to Rs 1,465 crore.
