Re touches fresh 9-year high at 39.62/$

The rupee rose 11.6% this year to a nine-year high, the highest since April 1998, a move that would hurt exports from the country.

The rupee was up by 0.3% at 39.62 against the dollar, the highest intra-day level since April 17, 1998.
