B-SCHOOL ZONE: Coaching CEOs

ISB Hyderabad will be conducting a programme to coach CEOs and top management executives to hone their ability to coach highly able managers and professionals to achieve consistently high levels of work performance and realise their full potential.

The coach: David Pendleton, Visiting Faculty, Oxford

The players: CEOs & top managers who are managing managers. The programme will commence from July 10-12 at ISB Campus and the fee is Rs 75,000.

Effective communication

IIM-Lucknow is conducting a programme in effective communication for managerial success. The participants will be going through modules on improving communication skills, designing and communicating effective formal and informal messages, integrating technology for document preparation,designing and preparing appropriate graphic aids for written messages and oral presentations among others.

The coach: Dr. Neerja Pande

The players: Executives, middle level managers, programme managers, engineers, bankers, architects, trainers and teachers belonging to private industry, government agencies, the military, small business and independent consultants.

The programme will commence form June 05-07, at Mumbai (Non-residential) and the fee is Rs. 20,250 per participant.

Strategic analysis programme

IIM-Bangalore will be holding a residential programme in 'Strategic Analysis for Competitive Advantage' to develop among participants an understanding of the analytical techniques used for strategy formulation in companies and also their applicability in different contexts.

The coach: Profs. Ganesh N. Prabhu & P. D. Jose

The players: The programme will be held at the IIM campus from July 03-07 the fee is Rs 46,000.

Corporate social responsibility

IIM-Indore will hold a programme in 'Corporate Social Responsibility' (CSR) to sensitise participants on issues related to it. The participants will be given lessons on CSR as a business concept, the financial and tax implications of CSR, perspective on developmental aspects and also examples on some successful models in India.

The coach: Prof. Abha Chatterjee

The players: Senior executives from corporates and institutions who have responsibilities or would be expected to take charge of CSR activities in their respective organisations.

PG course in business design

The Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, has launched a post graduate program in business design (PGBD). The two-year programme will have 18 months of classroom teaching and practical training and six-months project based internship. The program aims to provide a design perspective to business. Also, workshops on subjects like anthropology, ergonomics and innovation will be conducted. Graduates in any stream can apply for the course. IIM-A to provide dual degree

Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE), a corporation held by Duke University, USA, have announced a collaborative arrangement to deliver custom corporate education programmes in India and the Middle East. The arrangement will enable student-exchange, dual-degree programme, and doctoral student exchange at the level of dissertation writing, faculty exchange, joint executive education programmes, et al.

IIM-A has also engaged with Duke University's Fuqua School of Business to design executive education programmes for global market.
