Adani Ports and SEZ is trading higher by nearly 4% at Rs 134 after the company reported that it has set a new national record in coal handling in a day at its Mundra Port.
The country's largest port developer handled 151,229 metric tonnes of steam coal in past 24 hours at the Mundra port.
Mundra port's West Basin terminal handled the steam coal from MV Cape Fushen, Large Cape Vessel, carrying steam coal of Indonesian Steam Coal of M/s. Adani Power Limited (APL) thus setting a new national record in coal cargo handling in the country.

The Mundra Port's West Basin terminal surpassed the last recorded best coal discharge performance nationally of 122,247 metric tonnes and further surpassed its own record of 115,119 metric tonnes set in January 2012.
The stock opened at Rs 129 and touched the intra-day high of Rs 136 in trades so far. As many as 1,12,000 shares have changed hands compared to its two week average of 1,30,000 shares on the BSE.
