Castorseed 1.4% on weak spot sentiments

Current October contract also declined by 0.23%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Castorseed prices fell by Rs 58 to Rs 3,993 per quintal in futures trading today as traders preferred to offload holdings in tandem with weak physical markets sentiment.

Marketmen said fresh supply against scattered meal export demand mainly pulled down prices here in futures markets.

Moreover, profit booking by traders at higher levels too kept prices under pressure, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for far February contract fell by Rs 58, or 1.43% to Rs 3,993 per quintal, in an open interest of 16,250 lots.

Most active January contract lost Rs 34, or 0.84% to Rs 4,025 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,33,930 lots, while near November contract eased by Rs 23, or 0.61% at Rs 3,758 per quintal in 1,06,080 lots.

Current October contract also declined by Rs 16, or 0.23%, to Rs 3,721 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 9,150 lots.
