Castorseed prices rose by Rs 84 to Rs 3,916 per quintal in the futures trading today following slump in rupee coupled with low levels buying by traders.
Marketmen said sharp fall in rupee against the dollar along with traders buying at prevailing lower levels following pick up at spot markets demand, mainly pushed up the prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for November contract rose by Rs 84, or 2.19% to Rs 3,916 a quintal in open interest of 10,890 lots.

Near October contract gained Rs 65, or 1.73% to Rs 3,837 per quintal, with an open interest of 88,400 lots.
Most active first contract also found fresh support with an increase of Rs 57, or 1.55% at Rs 3,738 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,19,480 lots.
