Chana down 0.47% on profit-booking

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Chana prices moved down by 0.47% to Rs 3,808 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators booked profits, triggered by rising arrivals of new crop  in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the May contract weakened by Rs 18, or 0.47%, to Rs 3,808 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,39,680 lots.

The April contract shed Rs 17, or 0.17%, to Rs 3,690 per quintal in 66,130 lots.

Market analysts said speculators booking profits, triggered by rising arrivals of new crop in the physical market mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade.
