Gold futures extend decline on Bernanke testimony

Gold futures for August delivery fell $28, or 1.7 per cent to $1,606.20 an ounce, at 10:03 am on the commex in New York. The metal extended earlier declines after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S Bernanke refrained from discussing steps the central bank might take to bolster the economy.
