Lead falls 0.5% on sluggish demand, global trend

Lead weakened by 0.52% to Rs 104.95 per kg today on sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market amid a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April delivery traded down by 55 paise, or 0.52%, to Rs 104.95 per kg in business turnover of 680 lots.
The May delivery is set to trade lower at Rs 106.15 per kg in a turnover of 36 lots.
Market analysts said sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market and a weak trend in base metals in global markets on demand concerns led to a fall in lead futures.
Meanwhile, lead fell by 0.7% to $2,054.75 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
