Medium sugar gains on retail buying

Medium sugar prices gained modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on limited retail buying. 

Small sugar variety closed almost flat owing to poor buying support.

Medium sugar (M-30) edged up by Rs four per quintal to Rs 2,796/2,891 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,792/2,891.  

Small sugar (S-30), however quoted lower at Rs 2,741/2,781 per quintal as against Rs 2,742/2,781 yesterday.  

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets: 

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,796/2,891 (Rs 2,792/ 2,891)
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,741/2,781 (Rs 2,742/ 2,781)
