The stocks of companies engaged in the base metals business have lost ground in the last three months from March to May on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
 
Share price of Sterlite Industries fell from Rs 722.85 on March 1 to today's close of Rs 584.40, down 19.53 per cent on the BSE.
 
During the same period the stock price of Hindustan Copper decreased from Rs 58.00 to Rs 55.60, down by rou4.13 per cent and Binani Industries decreased from Rs 31.85 to Rs 30.25. Hindustan Zinc fell from Rs 173.90 to Rs 149.69, down 13.92 per cent.
 
The share price of Precision Wires was up from Rs 79.84 to Rs 94.50. However, SWIL fell from Rs 17.80 to Rs 15.44 and Tinplate rose from Rs 52.15 to Rs 57.35 and Galada Power & Telecom rose from Rs 8.55 to Rs 8.71.
 
Ram Ratna Wires rose from Rs 16.95 to Rs 24.60 and Gujarat Intrux rose from Rs 21.85 to Rs 27.00. Southern Ispat fell from Rs 14.24 to Rs 11.50.
